2018 Third Party Logistics Study Shows Growth

As greater data availability and real-time decision-making become more prevalent, the relationships between shippers and 3PLs continue to grow. The 2018 22nd Annual Third Party Logistics Study produced by Penn State shows these relationships provide a competitive advantage for shippers.

For several years, the study found shippers are refocusing efforts on their core strengths leading to greater reliance on 3PL providers. Increased trust, demonstrated value and reliability of these partnerships are cited as factors.

Millennials and Gen Z are more eco-conscious and socially-conscious than previous generations. As vendors, businesses echoing similar values will have a greater chance of becoming valued partners.
