Another Major US Trucking Co Quits Mexico

Trucking is tough all over right now; Mexico is no exception. U.S. Xpress shuttered its Mexico operations earlier this year; now Covenant Transport is following suit. (8th and 16th largest U.S. truckload carriers by revenue, respectively).

Contributing factors include a long, slow decline in rates (from their record-highs in 2017), increasing trucking costs, and of course challenges in achieving a profitable freight balance in a (somewhat) unfamiliar foreign market.
